A pretty special surf break will start rolling in Hanmer Springs this September.

Hanmer Springs Thermal Pool and Spa is introducing its very own Surf Experience – YourWave.  We are bringing a world-class standing wave to the heart of North Canterbury, creating an endless surf experience that we can’t wait to share.

Using geothermally heated water, you'll be surfing year-round in 28° water surrounded by epic alpine scenery. Whether it's someone's first ride or they're chasing progression, YourWave delivers an unforgettable experience for everyone.

And the best part? You get to surf every day.

We're building our founding crew and looking for energetic, confident people who love surfing, stoke, and creating amazing experiences for others.

More Than Just A Surf Job

We're looking for people who can bring the vibe, build confidence, share their passion, and create an atmosphere that guests will remember long after they leave Hanmer Springs.

You'll be coaching, encouraging, hosting, hyping people up, celebrating their wins, and helping create one of the most unique attractions in the country.

What You'll Be Doing

·  Keeping things fun, safe and welcoming

·  Coaching riders of all ages and abilities

·  Dialling the wave in for whoever's on it – that’s the operational bit

·  Helping guests level up and feel hyped about it

·  Telling the YourWave story and getting people amped

·  Owning the whole guest experience — check-in to high-fives out

·  Bringing the energy and keeping it flowing all day

Who We're Looking For

Surfer, snowboarder, skater, wakeboarder, skier, coach — or just someone who's stoked on people and adventure. Honestly the wave doesn't care what you rode in on. What matters is you:

·  Bring good vibes wherever you go

·  Love chatting to strangers and making them feel welcome and have stellar english language skills

·  Can hold energy in a fast, buzzing environment

·  Genuinely love helping people get better at something

·  Roll with the team, not just yourself

·  Show up, adapt, and stay keen to learn

Surfing experience is a bonus. Personality and people skills are the real currency here.

Spend your work time on the wave, downtime chasing mountains, rivers, bike trails and ski fields — and when the ocean's calling, the Canterbury and West Coast coastline is only a couple hours away.
